Room 515, Thursday Night
Jul. 12th, 2007 06:23 pmNaminé...
Valentine weaved his way through the hallways of the dorms, dragging his feet up the steps to the fifth floor. On the fifth floor, there was someone who he had made a promise to. He was going to keep that promise. It had been too long. An eternity. A moment.
Lost again, broken and weary
Unable to find my way
Tail in hand, dizzy and clearly
Unable to just let this go...
He was hearing whispering again. He did his best to ignore it as he stopped in front of the door to room 515, taking in a slow breath-- he had always taken breathing for granted before, he realized.
He wasn't ready for this.
I choose to live...
He wasn't ready for this!
I choose to live...
He had made a promise.
I choose to live...
He raised a hand and knocked on the door, staring at it uneasily.
(For Naminé.)

Date: 2007-07-16 04:48 am (UTC)Except that it wasn't, was it? And now he was sobbing like a child and there wasn't anything that he could do to undo the mistakes he had made, and here he was, making another one by not telling her what he had done, and he couldn't get a handle on himself to set this right, either.
All he could do at this point was hang on to her and try not to let the whispers swallow up his mind.
He wasn't all right.

Date: 2007-07-16 05:28 am (UTC)Of course it would.
He didn't dare try to speak. He couldn't have managed it even if he had tried. But he nodded and held on a little more tightly for a moment before letting his arms drop and looking toward the door tiredly.
Everything else would take care of itself. It always did. Maybe this time, he'd end up in the blackness for a little longer, or perhaps he'd be on a sheet of paper that was burned rather than just balled up and tossed away.
He'd have to tell her eventually. But tonight, he'd just have to breathe.

Date: 2007-07-16 06:01 am (UTC)If he got out of here, at the very least, he'd be able to try to get his head put on straight without all of that guilt ripping at him from the inside.
"Later," he agreed, his words something of a mumble, now. "Thank you... I'll... talk to you about it later."
He'd have a lot to say, no doubt.

So instead, he made his way numbly to the door. "Good night, Naminé."
